Favourite Grad Quote

Over at Lasting Memories they are having a challenge for a page inspired by quote. I am in the middle of doing my daughter's grad book, and my ALL TIME favourite grad quote is from Dr. Suess......
 "Oh the places you'll go"

For some reason the grads weren't allowed to wear grad hats, :-( I was very sad.... so when I got the photos back, I photoshopped hats on all the kids! lol

Thanx for stopping by.... have a Happy Scrappy day!

Recycled Flourish

Hello all. Today I am doing a Grad page, and it started with a little piece from last week's blog.

If you remember last week, I cut out a flourish and said that this reverse piece could be used as a template.... well I decided to use it!

I got a Karen Foster Grad paper, and put my template in the corner,
Spread embossing paste over the template,
removed the scrap paper, and heated the paste. The bottle doesn't say that you can heat it, so I was experimenting, and it works well, it puffs up a bit like the snow pen if you have ever used that before.
Then I took some inka gold and covered the leaves. I got a bit on the black paper, and again experimented with trying to remove it. Turns out an eraser works just fine. Lightly of course so you don't wreck the paper.
I added some random Prima flowers, words and of course a butterfly... the whole "change" thing and all.
 close up of one corner,
Close up of the other corner. That's my daughter ( the short one...lol) and her best friend since grade 3!

Thanx for popping by, have a Happy Scrappy Day! Hop over to Scrapbooker's Paradise to see the shopping list.

A quick fix

Busy time this round..... with back to back classes and Camp Croppin it was hard to squeeze in time to make a page / post. So I thot this was the perfect day to do a quick page with the pocket life style!! You can get a feel for how these will work when you need to do a quick project, and I won't have a empty space beside my name for the next blog!

First step was to gather some papers, 2 of the backgrounds I used were from the Family Is... line. Then I cut a white piece of paper just to play a bit.
I found a picture. Cut out a flourish with a Cheery Lynn Die. And sprayed some white Prima flowers with the NEW Caper  Green Tattered Angels glimmer mist. Added some bling centers and glued it together. One part complete!
I got the new EK Success punch with the very Kewl film strip. I cut out a piece of scrap paper then layed it over top of the white paper. Sprayed with the same glimmer mist, and I have a fun border.
Oh ya, and the piece of scrap that I used to cut out the Cheery Lynn die, can now be placed over paper and used as a template for a spray, or ink.
For this little piece, I added a border punch, a bit of glitter glue on the arrows, and a few pearls lined up. Done!

Now I put them in the protective page, and I have a cute page done, fast and easy! Onto the next page.... there are a few different layouts too. The biggest is 6x8, then 2 4x6's or 4 4x3's. Mix them up and have fun.
Hop over to my partner's blog and see what she made with Glimmer Mist. Have a Happy Scrappy day, thanx for stopping by!

Summer Colors

My Mind's Eye has a beautiful summery colored line. I love the bright orange and turquoise, I can almost feel the sunshine on my shoulder. The weather keeps playing tricks on us, so I will live vicariously thru the paper :-)

There are a few matching embellishments that you can choose from, here are the chipboard buttons, and decorative pins. A swirl made with the viva decor pens, but you could also try stickles or liquid pearls. The difference with the viva decor is that they stay true, and don't flatten out. But either way if you can design a glittery pattern, that's what it's all about.
Some die cut butterflies. There are so many to choose from right now, Cheery Lynn Design and Spellbinders  both have great butterflies. There is another viva swirl under the wings, and a touch of bling for the heads.
I used the patterned paper for some embellishments also, cutting around a few different sizes and adding glitter to the centers, and the petals.
A touch of ribbon, and the page is done :-) Behind the butterfly wings I used pop dots so they won't flatten out in my page protector. Have a happy scrappy day. Hop over to Scrapbooker's Paradise to see the shopping list. Thanx for stopping by.

Childhood Memories

Hello all :-) Today's challenge at Lasting Memories was a Childhood memory. Although there are many great ones.... I do love my Disney memories most. This one was in the 70's and I went with my favorite Aunty, Uncle and cousins. We had so much fun! These pictures always bring a smile to my face.
There is my Hidden Mickey!

Banner, banner everywhere a banner! lol. The line I used was My Mind's Eye, with matching embelly's.
The finished page. Have a Happy Scrappy day! Thanx for popping by.

Old Fashioned photo

Hello all, today's photo is an oldy.... but a goody...... that's me, many moons ago, I don't have a year on this photo? Can you tell both of my parents were hairdressers? I always had the newest "quaff" lol This page is for the Old fashioned photo challenge on Lasting Memories blog
I added some of the Kaiser umbrella's. I used zig 2 way glue and sprinkled on complementary glitter.
My little umbrella's are scattered, with some bling and a passing butterfly.

some of the banner pieces and the umbrella were fussy cut on the bottoms so I could slip the photo mat underneath.
And there is my finished page.... a teeny tiny me on a spring based layout. Have a happy scrappy day!

French Country

Graphic 45 just screams FUSSY CUT ME!! I love the images on this line, and the rich colors are so beautiful! I'm sure everyone in  Calgary has Butterfield acres pictures, now here is a line you can happily scrap all those photos!

I used a solid background so the images had a god contrast. I used popdots on the fussy cut rooster and the sunflowers so they  have depth.

I crumpled  a bunch of stamps around the postcard and tucked that behind the photo.

Cheery Lynn has some great dies, I used the chicken wire die behind the photo so there wasn't so much green space.
The finished page. A bit of stickles all around the Rooster feathers, and the sunflowers have small pearls in a circle of the center of the flower.Layer upon layer of fun. Have a happy scrappy day, Head over to Scrapbooker's Paradise to see the shopping list. Ciao for now :-)
