Flashback

So when I was young, and I wish I could say 5, but I think I wash more  like 25? I made this silly advent wall hanging. The pockets hold the tree ornaments and you put one a day til Christmas and then your tree is all decorated. When Maddie came around people assumed she made it lol. Now she is too creative for people to think that any more. The catch is.., Maddie loves it and since most of our traditions thru the transitions have vanished, that old silly advent is all that's left. So, every Christmas she proudly hangs it on her door.
Next time you are making a project whether it be a page or an altered object, just remember, YOU are the only one to see the imperfections, except in this case lol they are obvious! Just kidding, someone will always love it! But, have a fun and wonderful Christmas, a beautiful New Year and I will see you in 2012!!

A teaser

WARNING! This post has no photo! I know what your saying ' what? But Selena is all about the photos??' well here's the thing, I am doing the Jan 4th post on the Scrapbooker's Paradise blog, and if you look at the calendar it's not Jan 4th yet! Problem is I was kinda excited when I finished so I thot I could at least share the excitement! And maybe you'll be back to see the final project moihaha. My evil plan at work! I'm not even going to tell you what line I used, but I can tell you where the inspiration came from ....I have 100's of pictures of Maddie's self portrait in the mirror ( ok 1000's) and some are my favorite pics, so the idea started from this collection of photo's where you can see the camera in the mirror, ( I think the camera makes the pic that much more special!)
So that's my hint hehe see ya Jan 4th!! :-)

Moulin Rouge

This was a special page that I made around a gift from Maddie, if you can read the journalling it will all be explained, but there is no picture for this layout, it's all about the story and the casino chip. :-)

I had fun using the stamps from the graphic 45 line.

The famous chip!! Wow, I can't believe the history contained in that little package.

Thankyou Prima for making such wonderful feathery embellishments, the fur ribbon I bought from the Medicine Hat store. Perfect addition for this page! I love the jazz singers shadow behind the girl in the glass...

and the whole page. Again.... thankyou Maddie, I even handwrote this one..... and I NEVER handwrite!!

Scraplifted from Carolyn

My friend Carolyn made this page, and I LOVED it. I asked her if I could scraplift it, and since I was in the page, she agreed :-) She even gave me some supplies to help with the layout.

who needs Paris when you have girlfriends? Great line!! That's us, Fab 4 in the window frame.

such great paper from My Minds Eye, the colors were great, and so "vintagy"

Kaiser made the wooden embelly's and with a touch of Glimmer mist, they turned into the perfect color!

the finished page. Thankyou Carolyn for designing such a great page, and supplying me with enuff stuff to recreate it!

One more Tim Box Macabre Style

Last year I made a Christmas box, and I left the back side blank so that when I got into the Halloween boxes this year I could add Halloween to the flip side of the box. Christmas will be facing out for December, and Halloween will be facing out for the other 11 months :-)

these are the compartments close up

and the finished project.

Apothescary

My pride and Joy, the Apothescary. When I saw the new line from Moxxie, I HAD to make something out of it. So I combined my passion for Halloween, and the Tim Holtz Letter Tray and made this little gem. I took some close ups of the different boxes. This was so much fun to make!!

In the Attic

I almost forgot to post my last tag! This one was inspired by things you would find in the attic. The bird cage die and dress form die combined made a great combo. And don't you just want to pull the chain on the lightbulb? By coloring it with a Copic it looks like it is on !

Dead on Arrival

So my goal was to take ordinary objects, and make them into something creepy, hence the every day car. So how to flip the switch? Add a skeleton driver and a coffin. Easy lol.

the background stamp is stampendous crowscape, and the skeleton is a Timmy Stamp and the car is a Timmy die.

The Raven, Nevermore

This Raven just screamed to be put in a cage, and of course he would say "Nevermore"

All the dies are Tim Holtz, as well as the embossing folder. Some crackle over the nevermore tag, and Timmy Distress inks and stickles.

Black Roses

For this tag I wanted it to look like wallpaper, with the chandelier hanging. The roses were the center of attention in the "room"

the chandelier is stamped with the new BoBunny stamp, and then shrunk! Worked like a charm!

Severed Hand

I can hear the questions now, why is there a severed hand in this post? Well because, the pooled blood that you see, is none other than Red Utee! Yes there are other uses for it! The result was perfect!

I melted the Utee in the melting pot, and just poured :-)

It's a Ghoul

Haha the mind works in mysterious ways, the second I saw this buggy from Kaiser... I knew I was going to do something creepy... I had all these sayings laid that I was trying to twist into a spooky line, and my daughter came up with It's a Ghoul"!! Loved it and made the tag :-)

I embossed the top of the carriage with a spider web so it had that folded look. then some glitter, Tim distress ink, goosebumps and tulle, and I had a marvelous ghoulish tag :-)

WHERE HAS THE TIME GONE?

Ok, last time I blogged here I said 'wow it's been 5 months.... blah blah blah... " now I look and it's been 8 months!!! Oh my gosh! it's time to get back on it!!

Last year Tim Holtz did the 12 tags of Christmas... this year I thot I'd do the 6 tags of Halloween, lol no reason why 6..... but here is the first Tim inspired tag.... the Graveyard,

nothing that an embossing folder, some Tim distress inks, and dies and a shrink tombstone can't do!!

Curtain call

5 months is way to long between blogs..... but alas, what has made me come out of the wood work? Once again it's Graphic 45! We just unpacked the boxes today of the new line, Curtain Call. It beckoned to me. When I got home I searched thru the archives and found the cutest picture of my Aunty. It looks like she is ready to go on stage.... and so.... it fit the page! Maybe tomorrow I'll tackle the Circus line??

the piano keys were begging to be played

"it girl" just like Clara Bow, my Aunty also has "it"

tada..... :-)
the curtain closes.....
